Could domesticated parrots ever survive in the wild?

I ask because I support the world parrot trust who help to conserve wild parrots. But if any of them go extinct in the wild and still exist as pets – could these be reintroduced into the wild?

I don’t think pet parrots in the UK would survive if they escaped or were released. The UK climate is far too cold for them, plus being highly coloured, the wild birds would attack them.
