Disney cruise on the Wonder questions?
I had a few questions that I didn’t really want to bother Disney with, I was hoping somebody could answer, so here they are and thanks: Is breakfast served to cruisers on debarkation morning? Can you schedule 2 different shore excursions while the ship is at Nassau? Anybody have any tips or recommendations for shore excursions at Nassau? What is the typical dress for dinner in Triton’s, Animator’s Palate and Parrot Cay? I did find the answer for the dinner dress code on the Disney cruise website, but when viewing pictures or video, people look more dressed up. I also welcome any other tips or recommendations anyone can give about a Disney Bahama cruise(anyone out there who went at christmas please chime in also) Thanks!
I have been to four Disney Cruises but never at Christmas time.
Breakfast is served on debarkation morning. You will be assigned to one of the restaurants and to a specific time which corresponds to your dinner seating time. For example, if you had the latest dinner than you will have the latest breakfast. There are two main seating times, with three graduations 15 minutes apart – I think for dinner it’s 5:30pm, 5:45pm, 6pm then 8pm, 8:15pm and 8:30pm. Not being an early morning person, I always preferred to go with the later dinner seating so I could actually be ready for breakfast on the day of departure, and not be really tired the rest of the day. You get to (actually, have to) leave immediately after breakfast. It’s really an easy process: no lines, no waiting, no stress.
In Nassau you can combine certain excursions – as soon as you board you will be able to get specific information as to the start times and duration of each tour (go to the guest services desk – I believe on deck 4). If you want to plan before hand, check the DCL site – you know, go to my cruises or my reservations, and you should be able to see the available excursions but not sure if all the information is there.
The ship docks actually right there where the shops, government buildings, pirate museum are in Nassau so you can simply walk to those yourself. These days it’s basically what I do since I’ve been there so many times. In the case of the Disney ships, especially if it’s a 3 day cruise (which goes sooo fast!) I might just stay in the ship and enjoy. There are plenty of activities for the kids at Oceaneer’s Club/ Lab plus the pool is for once not so crowded.
There is only at most one formal evening anyways in the 3-4 day cruises. You always see a lot of people dressed very casually, even on the formal evening. If you avoid jeans, shorts or flip-flops you’ll probably be OK. The other days are casual. The dress code is not associated with the restaurant but with the formal evening – 1/3 will have it at Triton, 1/3 at Animator’s and 1/3 at Parrot Cay – luck of the draw. The other two evenings, regardless of where you are assigned to eat, will be casual dress code.
Don’t miss the entertainment, that’s really the Disney difference.
Disney cruises are so much fun; enjoy!
