Misleading sale of a African gray?

Hi I’d like to know what I can do about someone who I bought a African gray from, I originally put an ad on Gumtree and the seller contacted me, I wanted a baby gray so I can train him or her, I asked if the seller had any paper’s, because the parrot was 17weeks old, so she only had Hatching Certificate, but when the seller came to deliver the Parrot and when I paid and asked for the certificate, the lady Sed she forgot to bring, and it’s been over two weeks since she’s not Reply’d to my mails, I need the certificate to prove the age so we can keep track, someone please tel me what I can do, the seller is a breeder, Thank you for Your Time, With Regards!

You may well have a legal remedy but, in order to pursue it, will need the assistance of a lawyer. As that can be costly, you may wish to use organisations that can assist for free. Here in the UK, that would be the local Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards Office. Similar organisations exist elsewhere, but will have different names.

In the meantime, you may try contacting Gumtree, to see if there is any assistance that they can offer.

Good luck with it.
