Venice, a timeless place of bridges and waterways where golden light bounces into every niche and shadow.
I tried to emphasize the city's hypnotic light and pre-industrial quiet. It would have looked and sounded much the same during the Renaissance.
Grand Canal was painted in gratitude and affection for Eleanor and Richard McMahon, who invited me to join their Italian holiday in 1990.
