Passage

Larger View
The tanker and sailboats were photographed in broad daylight near Jamestown, Rhode Island in 1993.
The color palette comes from another time and place. I spent the summer of 1999 with a close friend in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and stockpiled images of cow-sheds and barns at sunset.
In those days I was trying to get my life restarted after Nancy's death. The intense colors and blade-like sails owe more to Lancaster and my internal state than they do to that day on Jamestown.
