Kandar

Larger View

Kandar's rider was an excellent horsewoman. She drew Kandar to attention - hooves together, head up, ears forward - and held him there, serene yet alert.

Horse and rider are so perfectly balanced that the image doesn't feel frozen like a snapshot. It feels like a single moment extended indefinitely.

Ultimately the eye is drawn to the woman's dark brown helmet against white sky. We'll never know what she's thinking, but we sense that she shares the same state of being as her horse, serene yet alert.
