Stonington Light (2007)

Larger View

This is a new version of a picture I first painted about eighteen years ago.

I wanted to convey the texture of brick, stone, and steel as well as the unique quality of light by the ocean.

I was also thinking of the ways in which a light house is like a church, guiding the faithful to a safe harbor. But more generally, it is intended to be an image of order, harmony, calm, and serenity.

Stonington Light will soon be available as a limited edition giclee-on-canvas print, at either 30 x 40 inches or 36 x 48. If interested, please contact the artist.
